Fine Art There is something about capturing the moment or seeing things differently in everyday objects or scenery around you. The details, colors, shapes are what is most attractive to me. I also enjoy trying different techniques like smoke photography or even some black & white photography.
Because of my analytical background my photography tends to require that things be in focus. It's a style I've shot for most of my life. These images are all about letting go and allowing what I'm photographing be blurry or out of focus. The below series are controlled blurs to achieve a specific look, feel and abstractness.
Smoke photography was a long time goal of mine. The setup is quite simple but capturing just the right swirl of smoke is a test of patience. During this process, my photo editing skills really came into play. There is only a small percentage of images that are usable but when you get something, it is really worth it!
This project was originally shot for a photo exhibition contest. One image was selected for the online gallery
PhotoPlace Gallery.
The concept was simply water. I didn't want to do the typical flowing or splashing water so I thought of all forms of water
and decided on ice. Fake ice cubes were used because it's easier to work with and provides a nice sparkly reflection of the light.
